Tom Tower 와 Great Quadrangle
Christopher Wren이 설계한 Tom Tower 안에는 Great Tom 이라는 거대한 종이 있는데
1684년 5월 29일부터 오후 9:05분 101번을 타종하여 학생들의 통행금지 시간을 알리는 역할을 하였다.
1852년 그리니치 표준시가 공식적으로 전국적으로 채택되었지만,
크라이스트처치는 GMT보다 5분 늦은 '옥스퍼드' 시간을 고수했기 때문.
Great Quadrangle(Tom Quad) 가운데의 분수는 The Fountain 'Mercury'인데 중앙에 Mercury 동상이 설치돼 있다.
이 분수의 원래 역할은 화재 발생 시 즉시 물을 공급하기 위한 소방수였다는 것.
