Cluchless Upshifting.
Is it BAD?
I shot this video to help students at the trackday that I taught for to better understand what I was doing with my left hand as I ride.
This bike does NOT have a slipper clutch. It's a 2005 GSXR 750. It does not have a quick shifter.
All upshifts are done by quickly rolling off throttle while simultaneously shifting adding pressure to the shift lever with my foot.
It does no harm to the transmission or clutch.
It's a technique that I use on the track and rarely use it on the street at street speeds.
These techniques work, however I acknowledge that they may not be the individual preferred technique of all riders, track or otherwise.
I'm not out to start debates about what is right.
They can all be correct and all have their merits.
Some are just more inherently safer and easier to understand and apply.
