배스 번(Bath Bun)은 1761년 왕립병원 의사였던 닥터 윌리엄 올리버(Dr. William Oliver)가
그의 환자들을 위해 제공하던 배스 케이크(Bath Cake)로부터 유래한다.
설탕 큐브와 과일을 곁들인 배스 번의 풍부하고 달콤한 맛은 환자들에게 매우 인기를 끌게 되었고
닥터 윌리엄 올리버는 그의 비밀 레시피를 공개하여 오늘날까지 이어지게 하였다.
